I heard from my neighbor that he pays @100 bucks a year for his camaro Going through Grundy. He valued it at 15,000. I am stuck with State Farm but would like to switch as I am sick of paying high premiums for my mustang that only see's weekend sunny day cruizing. Any suggestions or comments about using Grundy or any other collector car insurance?

I use Grundy Classic car insurance and have had no problems. Fortunately I have had no claims. When I got the car they worked with me very nicely to make sure that I had proper documentation to put it on the road.

The are part of the Chubb Financial Group which is a huge conglomerate. I do pay more than the $100 that your neighbor pays for the Camaro. To be exact I pay $186 for a year but the agreed value is more than half again as much as your neighbor has on the Camaro.

We have our entire collection with Grundy, over 140 vehicles. They are top notch, and true auto enthusiasts that are very active in the AACA. It's nice when you can insure with real car people. They'll work with you to meet your specific needs, and Chubb is a very huge, very established underwriter. We've never made a claim, but I have no reason to believe that it would be a confrontational process.

Mike,
You need to see the collection in person. Stop by the Ocala, Florida NPD warehouse and ask. You won't regret it.

We have our insurance through Hagerty's Classic Auto insurance. Got hooked up on line and pay the same premium as first stated in this thread. Never had a problem.

I've really never heard a complaint or problem with ANY of the established classic auto insurers. It's one of those industries where you won't be around long with bad word-of-mouth.

I've been quoted by local insurance
companies,
but the prices were unreal. Practically the cost for a car payment. this site my help you:

I was amazed with the premiums I was quoted on. The entire quote was
automated, simple questions and straight forward answers.

I have Grundy on both my cars. No problems so far. Really easy to deal with. Stang valued at $15K and my '34 Coupe valued at $40K both fro a little over $500 to insure.

I have Grundy Insurance and I have my 69 Fastback insured for 20K. The cost is $160.00 a year. Never have had a problem with them, but no claim either.

There appears to be a common thread - low insurance rates and NO claims!!!!
By the way - if your project is in the garage while it's being restored, it is NOT covered by a home owner's policy unless you have a rider. I learned this one the hard way. Pony up for the insurance even though the car is not being driven.

Hey, 70boss302, I talked to someone I know at Grundy and she said she'll send you an email about that quote.
