Last week I it was a decent day here in Michigan, about 25 degrees. I took the stang out to the post office. It wouldn't start. Jumped it for about a minute and was off. I parked it in the garage. Noticed a day later that there was antifreeze under the lower hose. I opened the radiator cap and saw that the fluid was low. Topped off antifreeze.Today it is Flordia like. 40 degrees. I had to jump the battery again. I let it warm up with the radiator cap off. As I revved the engine after it warmed for 15 minutes, the fluid in the radiator didn't move - it appears that there is no circulation? Any suggestions? Does the thermostat freeze and will loosen in the spring? Shouldn't the warm engine free it? How about the battery? Everything is new...battery and alternator. Thanks, Ralph

Here are a few suggestions:(1)...Your stat could be stuck closed (2)...Water pump about to fail (3)...Air-lock in the cooling system (4)...Bottom rad hose is collapsing and pinching off the flow Make sure that you are getting up to temperature, I kind of think that you are getting some circulation or else you would blow water coolant everywhere and badly overheat your engine. You can never go wrong by changing your hoses and stat. Just my.02, good luck tracking down the problem. Did you test the stat before installing it? I have had new stats fail right out of the box. Are all of your connections, grounds etc all tightened up O.K.? Sounds like you have a trickle leak in your electrical and it is draining your battery or your alternator is not charging properly. Take a battery out of another vehicle and try it, could just be that your battery is pooched. Once again just my .02 JOHN ------------------ 65 2+2 FASTBACK 87 TAURUS WAGON 98 F150 XLT TRITON V8 4.6, 4 WHEEL DRIVE Member:Vancouver Island Mustang Association M&M #1710 MyPhotoPage MY TRUCK
