Has anyone used CO2 (Dry Ice) blasting to remove paint and rust? If so, how expensive was it and how well did it work? It SEEMS that the technology would be ideal (no part damage, no sand to remove, no solvents, etc.) if it's not to much $$$$.

We used this process at work a few years ago, and still do where we cannot have sand in the equipment in the area. It was very expensive compaired to sandblasting and did not do as good of job, but the claenup was very easy just sweep the paint chips up. The dry ice is traveling at a very high velocity and I would be afraid that this would cause some rippling of the panels. It also gett he part blasted very cold and as soon as you move off the part it stars to sweat. I would have to see a demonstration on metal the same thickness as a fender before I would even consider this on a car.
