Helped installed a rebuild carb on my friends 302 but engine will not start. Plenty of fuel from the pump to carb inlet but no gas in carb, seems like a blocked inlet or somewhere in the carburetor. We looked for a plug or something restricting flow but could not fiend anything. Removed a carb from another car and installed it and works fine. Any suggestions before we take it back.

Needle and seat assembly not functioning, could quite possibly be related to float level/adjustment. What type of carb?

It's a two barrel, Auto-Lite but am pretty sure a 302 normally has a 4 barrel carb but that's what he wanted and that is what was on the car when he bought it. It's a convertible and has been sitting [garaged] for over seven years but was restored just before being garaged.
