My Carter AFB is a total PITA! It passed smog in AZ, but with 93 jets, before it had 120's. my mileage is better, but power is down. It has a bog sometimes, and the speed off the line just isn't there. I'm tired of it, and some have told me that Ford's do better with Holley's. So, now I'm thinking about a Holley Street Avenger 670. My '70 has a 351W, dual exhaust, kind of aggresive cam, Edelbrock Perfomer intake, electric pump, and an auto trans. What do y'all think? Sound like a good carb for my combination?------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic

Alex, Would a 770cfm street avenger be too much for him? I've pretty much decided to get rid of mine. I just need something with mechanical secondaries, and I don't need an electric choke street type carb. I don't have much $$$ in the 770 since I bought it at wholesale, so I could sell it for considerably cheaper than someone like summit.Edit: Gary, I don't want you to end up overcarbed, but I'd let this thing go for like $275. It has way less than 1000 miles on it. That's just what I paid for it. ------------------ Neal 69 Gulfstream Aqua Grande 351C/4sp https://mustangsandmore.com/ubb/MrWesson22.html [This message has been edited by MrWesson22 (edited 01-31-2003).]

Holley 670 SA will be good to about 6000 rpm on dual plane manifold but thats close to the upper rpm limit. If you want to rev above that range you'll need something bigger on a single plane manifold.
