I have a question regarding the fuel line on my car.

I have a c-code (2 barrel carb) 289 engine in my 68 coupe, but I replaced the carb with an edlebrock 600 and the intake to a performer. it works well but the old 2 barrel fuel line obviously no longer fits the way it used to. There is a lot of rubber hosing, and I bought a clear plastic filter to sit in the rubber lines.

It looks messy so i am considering buying the edelbrock fuel line and filter kit (#8134) and their stainless fuel hose kit (#8125). Their kit is for a 3/8 pump outlet, but my c code pump to carb fuel line measures 5/16 on the outside of the pipe. Is the pump outlet fitting a 3/8 fitting? When I look at pumps they all seem the same for 289/302/351 I want to know if anyone has messed with these aftermarket fuel lines and if they have a neat and tidy solution. Will the edelbrock system fit my car?

And no I dont have an edelbrock fetish, it does work well though.

If anyone cares my new harness is now in after I toasted the old one, and everything seems OK, once I get my fuel line sorted I will fire up the car and see what happens...

too much slush outside to take it for a spin though

Thanks
Phil

Phil, contact Earl's Serviserve in Indy. They can hook you up with a braided line for much less. They are in the phone book.
You wil need #6 line with a 5/16 inverted flare to #6 male fitting and a hose clamp style fitting.
Probably best to just make a trip there on Saturday.

That was one issue I thought about for my '65 FRPP with Holley. There are a dozen small block Ford lines used in early cars and likely one would do. I used an early Shelby line for my Holley. The line wraps up over the top of the water pump (clamped there) and turns down the right side of intake manifold. At this point I cut the OEM line off and flared it. The Holley uses a Mr. Gasket double pumper feed so I have a short coupling hose 3" between the Shelby line and the double pumper line. I use Perma-quick clamps on the hose to keep it very clean looking. To come up with this solution, I spent some time at the local Mustang parts shop examining my options.
