I have my rebuilt 351w and am getting ready to install it in my '69. How in the heck do you get the old pilot bushing out of the flywheel. I received a new one with my clutch kit and would like to install it. The Ford manual shows a special tool. Thanks! Dennis

The best "special tool" that you can use is a bolt that will just about fit into the bushing hole. About a 5/8 USS I believe is correct. You take a BFH and start to beat the bolt (gently at first) into the bushing, then put a socket on the hex head of the bolt and use a ratchet to screw the bushing out. Very simple, cheap, and quick. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Grease, bread, mud, it all works. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00,'01,'02,&'03 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Well, I tried the grease trick, but just made a big mess. I was going to try to thread in a bolt, but stopped in at Autozone, and they have free rental for a pilot bushing removal tool. I got that home and 5 minutes later the bushing was out. Cheers, Dennis
