My carpet will need replacing soon, and While its up I am thinking about replacing the asphalt stuff that is underneath it. NPD sells a non sweating version, but others sell a cool looking metallic foil sandwich type of sound deadener. Just wondering if anyone has gone for the Non asphalt stuff, was it any good? I want to make the car run a little quieter.

I mean the carpet pad not the spray on Underbody spray. The original sound deadening material in my car is like an asphalt based material, which "sweats" and doesnt seem to deaden much sound either..

The asphalt-free underlayment that NPD sells is excellent. If you use that AND the foil-backed insulation you mentioned, you will be very pleased with the results.
