Sam,

In the technical article you mentioned that the rear brake cylinders happened to be the same! Did you find out if the stock proportioning valve was the same or did you use an after market adjustable one?

When I added 10 x 2 1/2 drums to my Sprint I didn't change the PV.

I didn't change anything other than the backing plates, shoes and drums. Now if it it had discs on the front I'd be happy.

NPD shows the 390 cars having 13/16 piston cylinders? I can・t remember what I put on my FB.

I happened to have an adjustable proportioning valve because I used the SSB conversion for my front discs. I also acquired the correct factory 68 distribution/proportioning valve setup but haven't installed it yet.

Looking at the fact that both wheel cylinders were the same diameter and both brake shoes were the same (10"), I would think there is no need to change the proportioning valve if you already have discs up front and 10" drums in the rear. I've never seen that addressed anywhere from the early Shelby mods to the later big block cars with 10x2.5 brakes.

Sam

Your welcome! That being said, I am not a mechanic nor a brake expert, that's just based on my own understanding of brake systems and some basic physics.
