I want my '67 coupe to handle as well as a expensive sports car.(autocross) I already plan on lowering the upper control arms an inch, getting 17" rims with sticky tires, disk brakes up front, and either KYB shocks or more expensive KONI shocks. What else should I need?

Chassis stiffening.
Subframe connectors, Export brace and Montecarlo bar.
I assume you are changing springs and sway bars also....

Alos, You might want to check out the Global West Web Site. They have some real nice stuff. I used it on my 65 Fastback.

Hey Ernie, is that the same hardware as the 'Total Control' stuff Mustangs Plus has?

Will 17" rims help any? I've been hearing from some of my autocross friends, that tire wall height makes no real difference in handling.

Front and rear sway bars, bought as a match set, will help too. Also, use the Shelby templet to lower your front end by at least an inch. This will help keep your tire wear even.

Perhaps 17 or 18" rims will increase the maximum cornering g a little or something barely measurable, but I bet that its harder to control. Some sidewall flex will make the "limit" easier to feel. I bet 15 or 16" is a good compromise.

the 1" shelby drop is supposed to be a dramatic improvement. I have not done it yet though so I dont know

NO, the Total Control stuff is a copy of the Global West. GW, has been developing, racing and selling their for 20+ years. TCP is about 5 years old... GW is lower price also.

As far as 14" vs 15" vs 16" vs 17" wheels, Here's a good comparison test.
