I'm going to hook up my autometer 5" monster tach soon and was wondering if anybody has some good pointers. Here's what I have figured out so far on the wires.
White - 12v dash lighting
Red - 12v ignition switch (+)
Black - good engine ground
Green - negative side of coil
Whats the best way to tap into the dash lighting and ignition switch? Is it possible to use a 3-wire connector for that? What is a good engine ground? I have MSD blaster 2 coil with a ballastor, will that effect the tach? Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks.

You can splice into the dash lighting and ignition circuits no problem
You will need either a wiring diagram for your car, or a circuit tester will do. On '65s, the dash instrument light wire is white w/ blue stripe... not sure about '68s. The ground wire to anything metal.
