What kind of gas mileage do you get with your stang? Name your year, engine, and any modifications you have...and of course, how far you get on a gallon of gas. thanks

Lesse here...71, 302-2v(all stock), auto, 3.00 rear: 15mpg 71, 351C-4V(all stock except 214/224 @.050 cam)800 Holley DP, headers, 2 1/2" Flowmasters, 4-speed toploader above car with 3.00 gears: 19 mpg(hiway only) same car/engine 3.70 gears: 12 mpg same car/engine 3.89 gears: 10 mpg

I have never computed nor do I care what my gas mileage was. I do know this, the new 331 will get less than my previous engine. ------------------ My Mustang My next engine

71 429 CJ Mach 1, C-6, 3.25 gears-18 MPG @70 mph, 14 @ 55 and in the city. Lots of engine mods: lowered compression(11.3 to 10.5), low tension everything, balanced, lots of head work, recurved distributor, blueprinted carb,big free-flowing exhaust. 1973 Mach 1, Q-code, C-6,3.50 gear, all stock-11 MPG overall. 1973 Grande, 302, C-4, 3.00 gear, all stock- 18 MPG overall. 1973 Convertible, same as Grande above. 1972 H-code Fastback, all stock, C-6 3.25 gear-9 MPG(!?) 1972 convertible,same as 302's above, gets about 15 MPG. 1976 Gran Torino,460 4-V Police Interceptor 2.73 gear, C-6.- 10 MPG.( this is the slowest car I have owned) 1979 Z-28, 4-speed, 3.73 gear, ZZ4+ crate motor. about 16 MPG overall. 1978 Trans-Am, 400-4 Barrel 'T/A' motor, TH-400,- 12 MPG 1979 Lincoln MK-V, 400-2-V,C-6, 2.53 gear- (no converters) 16 MPG. There are others, but nothing special, just drivers.

66 289-4v (A Code), 650cfm carbnumbers came out funny the two times i tried to calculate it. i dont know how big my gas tank is, and my speedo/odometer isnt connected.. i never could reach my hand far enough through the speaker slot to get it to twist on. ------------------ Alan 1966 Tahoe Turquoise A-Code Coupe 650cfm Holley 4bbl / petronix ignition / missing valance / white vynol top

Well....that runs the plan for a stroker With these figures, monthly gas budget would be around 400$ (driving 750 miles/month !!)

Thats only if he has to siphon it out to use it in his lawn mower I get 18 mpg on the highway with a 347 stroker and 3.89 gears!!!! Maybe 8-9 around town. But who cares about city driving... Mike [This message has been edited by kcode (edited 01-14-2003).]
