Por-15 is the best stuff to use, follow the directions and you will not have a problem with rust, just remember to do the underside of the car as well. Here is a link to their web site. Don,t remember if I said it before, but welcome to M&M.http://www.por15.com/ JOHN ------------------ 65 2+2 FASTBACK 87 TAURUS WAGON 98 F150 XLT TRITON V8 4.6, 4 WHEEL DRIVE Member:Vancouver Island Mustang Association M&M #1710 MyPhotoPage MY TRUCK

Por 15 is not too good on new metal unless metal ready is used first. You can do well with a good primer and a coat of paint. A lot cheaper, too. Scuff the metal well before p riming and wash them well if using American Designer pans. They have an oil film on them. The 65 I sold had new pans. Primed and painted them with rustoleum- primer and satin black-car was originally black on the bottom.

I scuffed them up like Pete says, then painted them with zinc chromate primer and covered them with that rubberizer stuff, with a high rubber content. I don't expect to see any more rust in my lifetime ... but we'll see!

I have been researching this for a while and the general idea is that POR 15 not the best stuff to protect against rust. There is a product called Zero Rust which I plan to use - BTW - I am not a rep. I came to my decision based on the info from this web site: http://www.autobodystore.com/cgi-bin/config.pl?index
