I need a tires for my wife's Mustang. What size tire will fit well on a 15 X 8 rim with a 1 to 2" drop of the front suspension? Will a 15 X 8 fit in front? I currently only have 2 rims, but plan to pick up 2 more next month at the JY. I forgot the back spacing, but will check tonight. Thanks, Dustin C

I think you can mount a set of 275/60s in the rear, that what I'm going to pop on my '70. I'm not too sure if the front will rub, though. I have 275/60s on 15x8s on my truck and they look like a perfect match. ------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Please remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, Osborn Reproductions, MyFordPerformance.com, and FordRamAir.com

I've got 215-60-15 up front. I didn't want to go too wide without power steering. You can fit 225s easily. You can take it to Discount Tire and test fit.

On my 70 coupe same set up as your 69 I run 275/60 on the rear with the new style 5 leafs, but they would rub on the rolled lip on the quarter panel if I hit a hard bump, so I put in 3 more leafs off the old set on my new set and that solved the problem and also stopped all of my axle wind up. In the front I don't know what size they are right now, but they are firehawk ss20 tires and they rub if I am not careful, and also they are wide, and make it hard to turn, so if you have manual steering be aware that the wide tires in the front make it much harder to turn.[This message has been edited by BLstangin (edited 01-09-2003).]
