Does anybody know how to install the staples used to hold the rubber splash shields to the steel mounting plate? This is for the splash shields that go inside the front fenders.

Thanks,

Unless I'm much mistaken, you do it with an industrial-strength staple gun I can't think of any other way. Maybe ask a builder if you can borrow one.

I used a small drill bit to make the holes for the staples and then just bent the ends of the staples over.

Could you drill out the holes and use rivits?

Thanks guys. I was thinking along the same lines...I was just hoping there was a better way. I like the BIG staplegun approach.
Does anybody know how Ford did it back in the 60's?

If you don't need original fasteners, pop rivets with washers work very well. Position the material, drill through it and the metal splash and install rivet with washers on both sides.
