I've got the bottom end of my 289 put together and now need to throw on some new heads. I've got a set of '69 351W that the machine shop will put guides and a complete valve job on for 250 or I have a set of new GT-40P heads with trick flow spring kit but need to buy valves and assemble. I know about the header issue with the GT-40P's but haven't bought headers yet anyhow. BTW, engine has 11:1 Badgers (Via Moneymaker Racing) so a little loss in CR with the larger CC combustion chamber is a help to me. Any thoughts ???

If it were me, I'd go ahead and finish up the GT40 heads. Even if you get some one piece SS valves (I would), you'd still be money ahead and have better heads than the 351W. The $250 charge on the W heads probably doesn't include screw in studs, which IMHO is a must do.OR, sell both sets and reach for some aluminum heads. ------------------ My Mustang My next engine
