I picked up a complete suspension kit for my '65. Luckily it was within driving distance, so I drove over and got yesterday. It's the kit from Laurel Mountain Mustang.
My dilemma, I've got the car ready for painting... so should I wait until after it's painted or install the kit before it's painted? FWIW, the car will be dismantled for painting, front/rear glass out and the front cap removed. I wanted to get some feedback before I talk to the painter. Ive also heard that I cant use the rear sway bar with the disk brake rear end. Is that accurate?
Thanks, Todd.

Just my .02, but the less you have to do after painting the better. Less chance of chips/dings... I personally would build the suspension prior to the car going into the spray booth.

Not having run a disc rear I don't know for sure, but the sway bar attaches to the leaf spring u-bolt plates. I can't imagine why you couldn't use it with a disc set-up

Do the suspension or any other work before the paint and body work are done, if you do it after and damage something you are on the hook for the repairs, at least if you ding the car while doing your suspension, it is going in for the final stages of body and paint. When you get the car back from the body shop it is nice to have it all done and just ready to go cruzzzin
