My 66 brakes that is . I've been planning on swapping the single master cylinder out for a dual for awhile. And after several delays today is the day. I started the other day but couldn't break the fittings loose at the proportional valve. They probably haven't been off since 1966! So, my only solution is to replace all brake line. Or at least take the lines out & try to get them loose outside the car. But the upgrade should be worth the trouble.

Try a "Heat Wrench" on the fittings. Use a torch, preferably acetylene/oxygen, to heat the fitting until just glowing red and then use either a line wrench or small pair of vice grips. Works 99 per cent of the time, on almost any nuts, bolts or fittings that have become "married" by rust or other corrosion. Sometimes a propane torch is enough but it doesn't get as hot and it is harder to pinpoint the heat.Either way, the heat may damage the proportioning valve, but you won't be re-using it anyway with your new setup. Hope this helps. gene
