just wondering if my car isnt a C Code. VIN is 6R07A231910 which figures out to '66 Hard top from San Jose, 289CID 4V (that is A code correct?)

the 2V is C
4V is A
LuckyV is K. correct?

Yes, the "A" in your "Vin" represents the engine code. So you should have a 289 4V.

C = 289 2V
A = 289 4V
K = 289 4V HiPo

OOPS!
No Dave, "R" code is NOT a 289 HIPO.
That would be a "K" code.

Alex,
Thanks for catching my error. That is what I get for doing two things at once. I shouldn't be reading about 428 Mach 1s, ie "R" codes, while playing on M&M. I'll fix it.

According to the Mustang Decoding Information here are what your VIN numbers represent.

6-Last digit of model year
R- Assembly plant
07- Body serial number
A - Engine Code
231910 - Consecutive unit numbers

So, according to this you have an "A" code engine.

I thought that we already established that in the first reply?

Yes, Dave made that clear, but you brought in the "R" clarification to Dave, and that confused even me, so I just wanted to make it clear to the original post on how to read his VIN numbers since he seemed slightly confused. Sorry about the repeat.
