Yes, the "A" in your "Vin" represents the engine code. So you should have a 289 4V.C = 289 2V A = 289 4V K = 289 4V HiPo Dave & Terri ------------------ Poison Ivy (Dave's) '65 Fastback Modified 289 4V, C-4, dual exhaust, styled steel wheels, rally pac, A/C '02 Explorer XLT, Black, 3.73:1 limited slip, class III tow package! OOPS! No Dave, "R" code is NOT a 289 HIPO. That would be a "K" code. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked." Alex, Thanks for catching my error. That is what I get for doing two things at once. I shouldn't be reading about 428 Mach 1s, ie "R" codes, while playing on M&M. I'll fix it. According to the Mustang Decoding Information here are what your VIN numbers represent.6-Last digit of model year R- Assembly plant 07- Body serial number A - Engine Code 231910 - Consecutive unit numbers So, according to this you have an "A" code engine. ------------------ http://www.classic-mustang.net/ReadersRides/glenwren3.jpg

Yes, Dave made that clear, but you brought in the "R" clarification to Dave, and that confused even me, so I just wanted to make it clear to the original post on how to read his VIN numbers since he seemed slightly confused. Sorry about the repeat.------------------ http://www.classic-mustang.net/ReadersRides/glenwren3.jpg
