I've been looking for weeks for a decent console at a decent price for my 65 Airconditioned model with standard 3 speed. I have visited our favorite bidding site several times, but it seems the only decent ones at decent prices are the full consoles. Have any of you simply cut off the top part and added an end cap? Certainly I don't want it to look jury rigged, but will this work and still give an original look for a model with air? Also, if any of you know of one with air, I'd appreciate a shout.

Yes, several folks I know have had to buy full length consoles and then cut them to fit. Part of the reason you are having a hard time find a short console, is the fact that numerous mustang owners have added A/C to thier mustangs over the years. Soaring, Just what do you consider a decent price???I might have a short console with end cap along with both shift plates. I'll be off line for a couple of days so I'll check back after xmas. Mike
