Where is the high beam indicator located in the instrument cluster on a non tach 69? Theres a bulb behind the running horse in the speedo and I replaced the bulb but no light comes on.

For a while I was driving around thinking how cool it was that the little red horse was lit up on my 68. Then i found the foot switch. I was probably annoying the heck out of so many people. to me thats what gives older cars so much character, its those little touches that make the difference. my 2000 mustang didnt have anything like that.

The 69-70 non Mach 1 used the pony high beam indicator, but the Mach 1`s just had a round red indicator.

My '70 SportsRoof (non-tach) with deluxe interior has just a round dot, no pony. Is mine just an exception, or is it because I have the woodgrain interior?

Actually, I never even thought about a deluxe interiored Sportsroof, not very common, but yes, I think all the woodgrain dash trimmed cars would also have just the round, red dot.

I have two of those dash guage assm's in my garage.. I transplanted one in my boss car. Just because it had the horse... By the way there both non-tach.. before i get 30 call's looking for a tach job..... My poor Boss did not have one scrap of int when i got her. I had to make the call std or mach int... it was not hard ..
I get nailed for it at every car show....
That and the big Clevland.

Hmm, I've seen a '70 deluxe interior coupe (65B) sitting at an apt complex. Maybe I should see if I can get a look at that highbeam indicator and see what it has. And yup, deluxe interior SportsRoofs (body 63B) had a production total of 6,464.
