Is there any way to restore the black finish on the MUSTANG dash emblem on '69-'70 with the woodgrain dash? My car still has it's original MUSTANG and running pony emblem on the passenger side dash, to the lower right of the clock, but the black has faded to a reddish, almost rose color. I assume from having been parked in the sun for a few years. I see the Mach I and Grande emblems pop up all the time on eBay, but never the emblem for the deluxe interior cars. Anybody know how to make a factory looking repair and bring back the black?------------------ Gary M.- 1970 Mustang Deluxe SportsRoof (daily driver), 1946 Ford pickup, 1947 Ford pickup, 1957 Ford Fairlane 500 Town Vic

They say that to "restore" the red GT motifs for '68s (hub caps, gas cap), you should use nail varnish. Have you thought of using black nail varnish? The beauty of this method is you can always remove it.
