Does anybody know what the 9" axle lengths are for a '70, and where are they measured? Also are the 8" 28 spline axles interchangeable?
Thanks,
Dave

I'm sure KV could tell you when he gets power back.

I believe the 28 spline axles for an 8 inch will work in a 9 inch, but don't quote me on that. I think we went through that when KV changed out the 8 inch for a 9 inch in his 70 some time back.

I do know that the axles from one side to the other are not the same length.

the 8" and 9" ones will interchange. The 8" axles are usually skinnier though.

They should measure 27 1/4" from end of spline to the wheel flange on the left, and 31-something" (off the top of my head here) on the right side.
