Does any one have a source for those brass grounding straps that mount on the cowl and ground the hood? Both my cars need new ones.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Be sure to remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, and Osborn Reproductions.

You should only need 1 with that new shaker. Mrs. Mule's Mach1 is missing hers too!. You're talking about those funny little hunks of crap bent into a 90 degree angle with about 12 holes in them? They bolt to the cowl and rub on the hood and rust the poop out of the spot where they rub? That's probably why her scoop mounted turn signals act crappy. Thanks for the 'side armed' tip!! ------------------ -Paul 70 Mach1 79 Ranchero GT 97 Expedition XLT 00 SVT f150 Lightning 4149 of 4966 Born on: 06/26/2000 'life's tough... it's tougher if you're stupid.' Well, on my '68, the grounding strap is very small, no holes. Beneath it, but mounted on the firewall, is a non-original thingy that sounds exactly like what you are describing, Mule. It's part of the heater assembly. Maybe that's not your grounding strap at all? Or maybe our Mustang years are very different.

The '70 has the strap with perforations, the '72 has two fingers.------------------ '70 Mustang Mach 1 - '72 Mustang Sprint - '94 F-150 Be sure to remember our sponsors, Mustangs Plus, NPD, and Osborn Reproductions.

These thingies were a 'global' FoMoCo thing that all their products had from around '69 to maybe '72. The descripion I gave earlier was from the '71 Pinto I had (2000CC/4spd.) Yeah... Pinto. With it, you had an A.M. radio where you didn't hear the ignition in the radio. Without it, tunes mixed with ignition 'noise'.I want to say I may have seen them in my Dearborn Classics catalog. I didn't want to say it without checking first. All my 'reading material' is at work. Ever deal with them? I've had nothing but good experiences with them... ------------------ -Paul 70 Mach1 79 Ranchero GT 97 Expedition XLT 00 SVT f150 Lightning 4149 of 4966 Born on: 06/26/2000 'life's tough... it's tougher if you're stupid.'
