While planning my engine balancing job, I have also decided to do a light overall. One of the topic is what ring choice, they are so many options out there. For a mildly built up Ford SB mainly used in street what ring type do you guys recommend (comp ratio is 9.24/1, pistons are Speedpro Hyperteutic type, 6500 max RPM, 98 octane gas, alum heads ):* Plain Cast iron basic rings * Moly rings * Plasma moly coated first ring * Total seal: , but do I really need it ? Another question is: * Drop in type or file-to-fit ?

Plain cast rebuilders ring sets work best on street applications. Sealed Power, Muskeegon, Hastings, are all fine. ------------------ Alex Denysenko Co-Administrator and Moderator NHRA/IHRA/SRA member and licensed Superstock driver MCA member# 53321 NHRA and IHRA SS/LA National Record Holder '00, '01, & '02 Fleet of FoMoCo products including 88 ASC McLaren Mustang #28 Professional Manwhore The Barry of BarrysGrrl Quote #1: "I never met a magazine mechanic I liked."
