For those of you who don't know this is the original style hi rise dual plane intake like they used on the 289 shelby's.I was planning on putting this on my sisters 66 coupe that I'm restoring for her.The original plan was maybe a mild cam and some tri-ys and probably a 600 holley and open element air filter(kind of a Hi-Po look).Because she lives on a farm and is 4 miles from the nearest paved road, dust and dirt is a big concern.I may have to go with the original air cleaner. To make a long story short the car needed more work than we anticipated and maybe the headers and cam are not in the budget either.I bought this intake more for a cool kinda period correct look (she won't be taking it to the track). My question(finally) is will this intake kill the bottom end on a stock 66 289 2 barrel motor. The car is a 4 speed and has 3.20 gears so that helps but I've read this is more of a mid-high end intake. It will have dual exhaust but maybe just stock manifolds.Should I just leave it a 2 barrel?Or will just that intake and carb with dual exhaust work ok.
