Another 'silent' vote of confidence for Ford. Both of the stunt cars on the new 'Bond' flick(the Aston and the Jag)were NOT running thier stock drivetrains. No, they both had them completely replaceed with Ford Explorer drivlines(diffs and trannys) and 5.0 litre crate-motors. Reminds me of 'Miami Vice'- Ford 'rescued' the stunt 'Ferarri' on that one too! ------------------

Aaah, but unlike Ferrari, both Aston Martin and Jaguar are owned by Ford. They have a certain amount of control over what goes into "their" cars Ford make bloopers from time to time, but when it comes to world domination, they're right up there with Toyota! Very smart.

I think the Jag V8 is a ford engine (certainly the V6's in the sedans are) but I think the Aston Martin although owned by ford is still a European designed engine. Someone at work was trying to tell me it was a BMW derived engine. Not sure though. Seems like Ford and BMW have featured heavily in Recent Bond movies. I should go, Thunderball is on TV, (TNN) just saw the 65 mustang driven by Domino.
