This came with The Junkyard Dog. Is this a dealer added option? Is this even a ford AC? (no I havent gotten it off the car yet....bolts are ON THERE GOOD).

To the best of my recollection it looks like factory FoMoCo dealer installed hang on. The ARA units of the day were much thinner and the Sears/Monkey Wards units were black or gray plastic.

Thanks Alex! I think I'm gonna yank it out and replace it with a floor console> It seems like it is the only part left on the AC anyway.

Since it may be original to the car from the dealer, I'll keep it with the other parts!

Couldn't see enough of it to tell. The 67/8 hangdown had a small woodgrain panel and two knobs at one end. It had rectangular slots and the housing was black. And they blow colder than the indash vac operated so called factory AC's. Your car is a nice find! Reminds me of a 63 Falcon Sprint cv that was in a Ft. Lauderdale junk yard-complete with torches in the trunk-junkyard commuter car! You never know. I got it--a week after someone glommed the tach!!
