I just pulled a 9" out of a '67 390 4 speed stang. The axle code is either an "I" or a "1". I believe the I code would be a 4.11 with equa loc? Which code would be most common in the 390 stang? What's the likely hood that it's 31 spline?

"1" would be a 3.00 and "I" would indeed be a 4.11. It's doubtful that FoMoCo would have factory installed a 4.11 in a 390 as they were not very high winding engines.
But,...........I have seen stranger inconsistancies than that.
