Ford has a toll free phone number a person can call and get free information on a classic car, like date produced, original interior color, type radio, A/C, type tires and size & etc. They can get that information from the VIN number given to them. I lost the number and want to give it to a friend. Does anyone know that phone number. Thanks

Yep, it's (800)392-3673 and you need to ask for the History 999 report.
I wish him better luck than I've had, becuase I've called three times on both of my cars and never received the printout.
BTW, this is only good for '67 & later becuase Ford destroyed the records for anything earlier.

Thanks for the info..... I received a lot of info on my 1968 Mustang when I called last year. They send me a list of about 14 different things about my Mustang that I didn't known. I try and keep my car original as possible and when replacing something try and keep the same colors etc. The information they sent me is like a dealer option package and also the date [11/16/67] the car was produced.

Be aware that they aren't always 100% right, but they're worth what you pay for them.

My experience is that they're careless.

The person missed my VIN by a digit in a couple of places and what I got back was a car with different options and different color.

Here's the one for my Sprint.

It doesn't mention the car is a Sprint, and it says my car has the competition suspension. My car actually has the import suspension.

Yeah Steve, your letter is the same format and very simular to mine except I have a few more options listed. The information in my letter matches my car as far as I can tell.

The sheets I got from Kevin Marti for my Sprint and my Mach tell the real deal.

Also, my brother Mike has called them 3-4 times to get one for his Torino, and he's gotten nothing yet.

Yeah, I had to call twice before they sent me anything.
