Hello,
I am somewhat confused about the backspace sizes for my '65 Mustang. I thought that the rear backspace needed to be 4.5 if you were going to run a 15x7 or 15x8 inch rim. In the summit catalogs and on the "American Racing" wheel websites, it says that they only sell one size of backspacing....3.5 or something along those lines. Will that fit??? Can anyone suggest a rim and backspace size that would work? Thanks for any input....Thanks

Sal65Stang,
If I missed it before, Welcome to M&M.

Most of American Racing standard wheels are 3 3/4 inch backspacing. I have TTD's on my 65 coupe 15 x 7 with 225-60 tires. For a 65 try to keep between 3 3/4 and 4 1/4 Backspacing. Anything more and you could have a rubbing issue on the rear at the inside of the wheelhouse. Not much of an issue on the front.

TTD's = Torque Thrust D's. Great looking rims for a classic stang.

Welcome to M&M! Check out all the forums and enjoy.
