My 69 is missing the trim for the top boot. This is all of the pieces that surround the opening in front of the trunk. I have found a set with snaps. I dont think that the snaps are original but I dont have anything to reference on that. Could anyone tell me if this is correct and if not how did the top boot fasten to the rear deck?

Thanks,
Stan

Just this afternoon, looked at a 69 Cougar cv-loaded with XR-7, 4 spd, Fact AC, PWind, Anyway, the hockey stick parts were pot metal chromed and the center piece was stainless. No snaps and fastened from underneath. The 68 fastened from underneath also, and the plastic tabs on backside of boot tucked under the strips. On 68 couldn't get a repop boot to fit so found a mint 67 boot and put snaps on the strips.

My '70 has snaps on the side panel-two per side- otherwise plastic strips that slide under the trim.
