I am going to possibly loose my parts car (87 LTD C/V) which I was going to take the engine (302) & trans (AOD) for my 69 Coupe project car. I haqve a couple of questions, I am trying to decide 1) Do I want the factory fuel injection or aftermarket?, 2) If I go factory f/i what do I need to take off the parts car to operate the trans & f/i?, 3) If I go aftermarket what do I take to operate the AOD trans?. Any suggestions?
Thanks.

1) Do I want the factory fuel injection or aftermarket?

I would want the factory FI. It is much cheaper to upgrade/maintain and much more reliable.

2) If I go factory f/i what do I need to take off the parts car to operate the trans & f/i?

If it is an '87 donor car, I would take the complete assembly out as it most likely has a roller block (doesn't have rollers unless HO) and it would be easier to strip/changeover as you go.

You will also need to pull the ECM, completes harness and engine control harness (to be modified later).

3) If I go aftermarket what do I take to operate the AOD trans?

You will just need the factory TV cable assembly if retaining the factory FI.

Are you sure that according to early production that both 5.0 series had rollers?

There are actually two series of the 5.0, passenger car (and light truck) and HO. The firing orders are different and the upper plenums point different ways.

(HO) That would be MUSTANG and Mark VII (and Police).
