Quick question:
Has anyone out there gone to the trouble of replacing the self adhesive plastic "wood" with a nicely finished real wood veneer, like walnut for example? Seems it would make a nice statement at the shows, although not "correct". Im not a stickler for concours correct, so I fancy a go at making my own finish. anyone out there done this already or seen one?

We saw one at the MCA show. Beth has a pic of it. It's a maroon 66 customized coupe. I'll see if we can dig it up.

NPD sells a veneer applique that I believe is real wood, They have burl, some other kind, plus fiber optic, whatever the hell that looks like. Available for 66,7,8 and 65 pony int. The burl sounds good. Locally, spoke to a cabinet maker, and showed him the bezel and glove door, and he told me that he could make any kind of a wood grain finish out of mica, which I plan on doing.
