I'm working on a '70 Mach 1 and am taking the 302 out and replacing it with a 351C. I need to know if the pullies are different between the engines (I have none for the clev.) and if the brackets (alt. and P/S) are different. I would imagine they are, but I need to know so I can start hunting for these parts if need be. Are the motor mounts the same? The motor is finished except for these parts, and I am so excited to install it!

The pulleys depend on the accessories the engines have. None of the brackets are the same, but the motor mounts are. The throttle cable bracket is different, too. The oil sending unit is on the back on the Cleveland, but you'll find you have enough wire to reach it.------------------ All Fords since 1977!

The 302 has power steering, and that will transfer over to the Clevland, and I know that pulley will be the same between the two motors. I also know the alternator pullies are the same. I want to know if the crankshaft pulley and water pump pulley from a 302 will fit the balancer and water pump for a 351C. I think the balancer on the current 302 is a 4 bolt. Thanks for clearing up the question about the brackets, Steve. Anybody have them (alternator and P/S) out there? I think I have a throttle cable bracket already. P/S hoses don't have to be routed differently when I swap motors, do they? I thought I read somewhere that they did...

Correct, the water pump and balancer pulleys are the ones that vary depending on if the cars have A/C or a Thermactor pump. {air pump} Ford has an amazing variety of pulley configurations. The P/S lines will be fine. ------------------ All Fords since 1977!
