I planned on using a '68 302 2V but found out that the main bearings are in bad shape. Also, the cylinder bore is not in the best of shape. Seems the crank thrust washer is also bad. The crank slides/moves a bit forward.

I have a '72 302 2V and I checked the bottom. Bearings are in good shape. As well as pistons, rings, and bore. Now, plan is to put the '68 302 heads and manifolds. Is this alright? Will this be a direct bolt-on? What modifications, if ever? Thanks.

Your '68 top half will bolt directly onto the '70 bottom without any mods or changes

Am I also right in thinking that water pump and distributor would be interchangeable? Thanks a lot.
