I posted a message earlier about adding a b&M shift kit to my c-4(street/strip)...I am thinking about the one that all you do is unbolt the tranny pan, pull out the valve body, put the thing in, and put it back together.(I'm not talkin about the one that is a manual valve body or anything like that). Anyway...how much of a difference will this make if i put it in?

I wish I knew I didn't use that B&M kit.My trans guy told me he didn't like using kits in a C4 that a new vavle body thats been modified for more firm shifts would be better. Now my car shifts hard and chirps 2nd with ease. And once in while it even chirps 3rd.I'm real happy with the shifts they are hard put not to hard.SCOOP [This message has been edited by Fastymz (edited 08-19-2002).]

I put a B&M shift kit in mine, it shifts a lot better but not as hard as I would like it to. I would like to chirp 2nd, once and a while. Oh well, I really haven't "got on it" since I got my new gears in (3.55). Then again, my car is really loud

I will make a difference but you have to make sure you get the right one for your trans. The C-4 came in at least two versions, the green dot and the standard pattern. The early C-4's, or green dots, had a different drive selection (P-R-N-2,3-D-L) whereas the later ones (starting in 68 I think) had the "normal" selection (P-R-N-D-2-1). If you have an early C-4, you can swap the valve body from a late C-4 and use the late selection setup.

How hard are the "transpaks" to install...I want to be able to chirp second, but I dont want to ruin my tranny or spend a lot of mony on a kit. I want something that I can't permanently mess up my tranny with if I insall it wrong...such as the trans go kit, I know you have to drill holes in the valve body for that one, and I am paranoid that I will do it wrong...

If you really want your auto to perform I suggest a higher stall converter no tire chirping but will run better.
