Hello, A friend of my dads has a 4-speed toploader that he built and he spent $800 on it just in go fast parts, and now he sold it to me for $200. But the tailshaft is an inch longer than the one on my 3-speed. The extension housing measures 15.5 inches long and the only shifter mounting pad is in front of the speedometer cable hole. The tag reads HEH CF, can anyone tell me what this originally came out of, and if they all had the mounting pad in the front? Also do I have the long or short extension housing? Any help is appreciated.

Check out this link for a little toploader history:http://www.4speedtoploaders.com/history.htm Your trans came from a 1965 TVR /griffith http://www.4speedtoploaders.com/idchart.htm A somewhat rare tranny, probably will not work for a 'stang. Maybe contact David Kee and see if he'd do a swap for the correct trans for you.............
