my shifter feels like nothing is there...I read in MM about a pair of plastic push-on rings to fix the mushy feeling..what are these rings called..they are easy to install., I just don't know what to ask for.

It's just a bushing kit. NPD has them for $1.99 each, (2 required), part number 7A133-1
