The windshield on my '67 coupe caught a rock and has a growing crack. Time to replace it. I know there are replacement windshields available that have tinting or sun shading across the top. I want one without the shading like the original.Does anyone know of a manufactuer that makes such a glass? Anyone recently bought a repop windshield for a '67/'68 coupe? Do you like it? Got a model number and manufacturer info? Thanks! Brian

I can't answer your question 'cos I'm in the Philippines -- although I do have a large collection of windshields now I just wanted to say that if originality is your main concern, partially tinted windshields were an original option in '68. Maybe in '67 also? Simon

According to the option list on both 67 and 8, tinted glass was an option, but they do not list just the w/shield only. It may have been available, w/w only, but it's not listed.

Thanks for the replies guys. I found a Carlite original type glass for (ready for this?) $450!! Ouch!!PPG makes a more resonably priced windshiled, but its only available with tint. Brian

Double ouch!!! Are Stangs so rare in Ohio scrapyards that you can't pull one?

Actually, they are quite difficult to find these days. This is the land of monsoons in the Spring, salt roads in the Winter and humidity the rest of the year. It takes it's toll on mustang bodies and the remaining good parts (glass) tend to vanish when the rusted carcass is crushed (sounds like a horror movie to us Stang people doesn't it!! ).I'm going to keep looking for a used one though. I may get lucky. Brian

Most 35 yr old windshield have scratches, wiper marks and some cloudiness in corners to make them worthwhile.

Some salvage yards sell some rebuilt and new parts (radiators and glass) also. Try some and see if they can get new glass. One by me has clear glass for a little over $100. I need the sun-x type and they unfortunately can?t get it.

I've actually got what you are looking for! A repop non-tint windshield from a '67 coupe that I pulled from a car that I parted out a couple of years ago. I'll have to pull it out of the storage shed and check for scratches, etc. but if it checks out alright I would be willing to sell it for $100 plus shipping/crating charges if you are interested. Let me know by e-mail and I will get the ball rolling from this end (like figuring out how to ship a windshield!!)------------------ Duane 71 Fastback (his) under resto (351C-4V C6 auto) 73 Mach 1 (hers) (351CJ 4 speed) 66 289/2V coupe (daughter Ashley's) 89 LX 2.3 convertible (daughter Amanda's) M & M Member #730
