This is my first technical question post so be nice! I am doing a 6 cyl to 8 cyl conversion on my 65 fastback. I have all the parts and will be doing it sometime before summer is over. My question is this, I bought a new idler arm. Do I need a new Idler arm bracket or will the 6cyl one work. I have looked in catalogs and only see 1 bracket listed. Also, I am doing a Granada brake swap during the upgrade. All the information in this site has been a great help. I love this site! Can someone who has done the swap give me the length of the tie rods end to end so I can have an approximate starting point. Thanks - Phil

Thanks - he has added a lot of info since last time I checked. Looks like he is updating the whole section. Can't wait for him to be done!

the idler arm bracket is not the same.the 6 cyl.has a one-piece arm. I searched junk yards for mine. Try Old Dominion Mustang Parts in Virginia or Mustangs Plus in Ca. Any other questions feel free to e-mail me,I did my 65 fastback a while back to start my Trans-Am look.
