What is the redline for a 68 289?
Also, what is the peak hp and torque, and at what RPM are they at?

I've never revved mine past 5,000. I usually shift around 4,000 - 4,500 when I "get on it."

It depends on a lot of things.
Factory 289's were rated from 195HP with a 2 barrel and hydraulic cam to 306 HP in a Shelby with a Holley and solid lifters.

MM's 289 near 500 HP at 8600 RPM
411 ft lbs of torque at 5800 RPM.

Your figures may not be "quite" the same.
