Hello everyone,
I need some imput here on my next phase of my 65 Mustang Fastback project, the trunk area. Its rotted (no suprise). The rear frame rail needs to be sectioned & replaced both sides where the rear springs bolt up to. It also needs the trunk floors & drop offs, tail light panel, & the gas tank support lips. Should I under take this or should I ship this out to a body shop? I have done the prvious work on the floors, radiator supprot, inner fender panels, & the cowl.
Thanks, Mike.

If you've done the floors, core support, cowl, and more, why not finish it off. Go slow, measure and weld your pieces in. How are the rear quarters and outer wheelhouses?

Mike,
Frame rails aren't that hard to replace, especially if you are doing the trunk drop offs at the same time. The partial rails will connect about at the top of the wheel area, usually thats what need replaced, the rest of the frame down to the front spring hanger is usually solid. Just make sure you take measurements and have good clean metal to weld to on the frame.

Outer wheelhouses are another story, I won't do another one.

Mike
