While at the junkyard yesterday, I saw in a 67 a little light type deal under the dash. It sat right underneath the ign. switch. The lense has long since melted. It looks like chrome rectangle box and is wired into the wiring harness. Any one.Bueler,Bueler.....

Back in 1967 my father bought a 67 Fairlane 500 xl. It had a cold lite just like you're talking about. It was like a bluesh green about 1"x1/2" with a chrome bezel around it, right above your right knee. This would stay on until the engine reached a certain temp. Since it didn't have a temp guage{just an idiot lite} you could use this to determind when you could turn on your heater. RAY

It is a seat belt reminder light. Mine has never worked but it is supposed to come on when you start the car and turn off after a minute or so.

Yep, it was a seatbelt light. Mine still works, stays on for about 15 seconds.

If the seat belt warning light stays on or does not work, the usual culprit is the thermal time delay relay used to make it work. Replace the relay and you'll likely have a working warning light.
