Are there retractable seat belts for the ocnvertible in the front or just flat belts which attach to the outer rocker panel? As always, Thanks!

No retractors. I;m using 66 in belt windup retractors. Dont know if they repo them or not. They attach to the belt and windup the side closest to the door.

Retractors were available as a dealer option. These did not work or look like todays retracting belts. A roller attached to a standard lap belt was spring tensioned to wind up the belt anytime it was not in use. There was no inertia lock hence the wearer had to be sure to fully extend the belt anytime it was worn.

I'm curious why Osborn's would show convertibles as having those retractors if they were just a "dealer option". Hmmm.

My 68 coupe has retractable belts but they are very short to force you to adjust the other side of the belt so it fits you snugly.

Fellas, the reason why I ask is that I have as someone described it - "a sock" retractible. It is out of a 68, but it is way too fat to fit on the wider rocker panel. It appears that the seat could slide by it. I think I will just put the adjustible ones until I find the correct one as you all describe. NPD only had an after market one that isn't anything like the original.

Just looked in the NPD catalog and saw their retractor. It is a "dead on" copy of the original. They work, if installed correctly.

What page and what is the part number? I was there today and the guy at the counter told me that they only had two seat belt options...

It is listed as a part for 65-7. Will still work.

I got the belts that are 14.95. They look fine though they are not the black FoMoCo ones...
