Using the cool web sites you guys sent me , I came up with a whooping 9.0 to 9.3 ratio

The engine is set up as follow: 302 with flat top forged aluminium pistons (big D cup for 2.02 valves), Edelb aluminium heads (60cc - 2.02/1.60), sporty cam but nothing too crazy(214/224 @ .050, lift .472/.496)Performer RPM intake + 600 cfm edel Carb.

Can I safely increase this number to 10 or 10.5 without taking ANY RISK ?
If yes, How should I do this:
Grind(a few 1/100 inch)the 1000$ heads
Change my pistons to pop-up type (like 302 Boss)
Grind the block the same amount

Or just drop the whole thing and enjoy my engine as it is

Personally, unless there is some performance issue leave it alone, and enjoy running regular pump gas. If not the easiest way would be to change the Head gaskets to these thin one's I have heard about but I don't know how much this would change it. Plug the numbers in and see before doing this.

A thinner head gasket would probably be the "easiest" way to do it, if you consider pulling the heads easy. Plus, there's not much risk, as opposed to angle milling the heads.

You guys are right ! I should probably leave it alone.

I just have this strange fever that gets me every so often to get my hands dirty in an endless quest for better performance even though my engine runs great now
Am I the only one out there with this problem ?
