For those who aren't familiar with my project, I'm sooooooo close to getting my '65 GT back on the road after (too many) years of sweat and busted knuckles. My machinist will be done with my block tomorrow, Alex has more goodies en-route , Steve sold me a Trac-loc , Summit now has all of my lunch money , and I've spent the last few afternoons after work finishing my brake system. Everything except the pedal is now either new or rebuilt by me

BRAKES ARE PRIORITY NUMBER ONE. We all enjoy bs'ing about big horsepower, more horsepower, and insane horsepower, but we've got to be able to safely stop these old Ponies, too

I agree with you V8 Thumper..my girlfriend got in an accident with her 65 Mustang and broke her front teeth. That accident could of been avoided with disc brakes. Yet the car had full drum and small width tires ("bike tires"). I have finished putting in a Roll Bar from Mustangs Plus with crossbar. Also I installed 4 point seat belts. My next move is a transmission only because it is going out but after that I need to replace my nonvented Centerline Auto-Drags for sum Halibrand knock off's so that I can change my front drums to disc brakes. Brakes are not the only thing that you can do...proper maintaince. Engine, suspension, brakes, tires, electric, body...etc.
