i have a 1970 n case with a 370 traction loc 28 spline .
the pass. side axle goes all the way in except for about a 1/16th". on the drivers side if you look into the end where the spline is at , theres like a doulble set of splines and i cant get my axle in because the splines are not lined up. whats the trick here gents.Thankyou....Allen

Seriously, you're saying that the side gears (splined 'socket') is in two pieces? I'll admit I'm no Trac-loc experet technician, but it sounds like you've got side gear problems .

On the other side, you say the axle won't seat completely? Is it bottoming out on the pin? To check your spline engagement, grease the splines on the axle, stab them into place, and measure the grease 'smear'. You should have no more than 1 5/8" engagement before you start bottoming out... if so, you've got a mismatched set of axles to that housing. You'd better give me that differential after all {j/k}
