Been a long time since I have posted in the classic forum, but here goes.........

I have a '67 Coupe with a 289. Couple of years ago I rebuilt the 289 and the c-4 that came out of the car.

I got the 289 as a package deal. A 289 with a 3 speed tranny and everything neccesary to put it in the car. So I left the c-4 out and put the 3 speed in.

Due to moving and a bunch of other BS I have yet to put 20 miles on the car. I'll be lucky to have put 10 miles on it.

BUT... I went back to pick up my car from ND, and I am getting back to working on my Stang, and I drove it the other day. As before, first and second gear was OK, but if I shift into 3rd, the whole car starts to shake. If memory serves, it was like that before I put it in storage.

Questions are:

Would I be better to put the c-4 back in and deal with an auto?

Or what's the deal with the shaking? It is bad enough I won't drive it to work. It is bad enough to keep me from driving it all together, and since I can't drive it, I don't want to work on it bodywise. So it just sits, and I want to be able to drive it to work, and around town.

Thanks for any help.
