Has anybody else requested a catalog and not received it? I've requested a catalog twice already, and still haven't gotten one. I first asked for one back around Nov-Dec, but never got it. I asked again for one about the end of Feb, and still haven't gotten one. Is it just me, or is NPD not sending them? I'm sure it's just a fluke since NPD has usually been very good. Just wondering.

Maybe you could call them and see if they can send you one right out. The phone number for the nearest store to you is 800-235-3445, that's the NPD store in California.

The New NPD catalog should be hitting the streets any day now. I met with Rick at our club show, March 22 - 24, and he said the catalog was three weeks from being done at the printers.

Since I placed an order with them last year, maybe I won't have to request this year's catalog. Time will tell.

We've been having what I perceive as a HUGE reliability problem with the post office on 4th class bulk rate mail. Ever since 9/11, I've had a large increase in complaints that requested catalogs are not making it to their destinations. A few of the patiently frustrated customers I've dealt with were also postal workers. Upon my relaying to them that we sent their catalog, but that 4th class has seemed to have "spotty" reliability since 9/11, all of their responses were "that doesn't surprise me a bit, it's been a total mess", and that's the best I can get out of them. Unfortunately, we simply can't afford to mail every catalog we send by 1st class, it would require us to charge money (not an option I want to take). Conversely, it's also a total waste when I send a catalog out 4th class and it disappears into oblivion. We're really in between a rock and a hard place right now on this subject. Basically, if the catalog doesn't arrive in 2-3 weeks after ordering it, call and request a 1st class delivery. We're accomodating these requests when the 4th class fails to deliver.

Thanks for jumping in here Rick. I meant in no way to say anything bad about NPD. I hope nobody sees it that way. NPD is one of the best, I was just trying to figure out the catalog thing. I called yesterday to the CA location and requested another catalog. Hopefully I'll be seeing it in a few weeks. Thanks.

Got my NPD catalog today. I went ahead and called the Ventura store sunday afternoon. I received it Wednesday. It must be a problem when trying to order via internet, that's how I requested my previous 2, but since I called them directly, I got it right away. Lots of new goodies in there, I think I'll be placing an order in the next week or so for some new stuff.

Got mine today. This was not a special request - it was based on the fact I ordered from them last year.

Well, got a catalog in the mail yesterday, but its the same one I already had, 2001 Edition.

Since I recently moved across the country, maybe they didn't recognize me as an existing customer and sent me an old catalog to get rid of left-overs.

If you do not request a new catalog when you order, we go on the assumption that you're all set. We can't afford to toss a new catalog in with each order. Not to get too proprietary, but that would be over $1000.00/day expenditure, most of which would be tossing money into the fire since most callers already have the most recent copy in their hands. Conversely, our salespeople SHOULD be good about asking whether you have our most recent catalog, and our shipping department SHOULD be including a catalog with each order on which a catalog was requested by the salesperson. All these "shoulds" admittedly sometimes get slack, and I'm constantly harping on the subject of shippers and salespeople flat-out forgetting to ask and forgetting to include new catalogs. My apologies if you've asked and not received. Anybody here who needs a catalog, email me, I'll handle it. [email protected] I usually avoid shameless forum self-promotion, but if we're failing to deliver catalogs properly, I'm compelled to dive in and fix it.

Just wanted to publicly thank Rick for emailing me personally and offering to send out a new catalog first class. I understand little business expenses can add up, so I declined the first class mailing, but am looking forward the new catalog in a couple weeks.

Thanks again Rick.

I got mine yesterday first class, even though I told him not to do that. I've already got some stuff in there I need to order, and there's some new stuff I know my dad has probably already called for and he doesn't even have his own copy yet, ie, new stuff I saw that he's been looking for for a long time.
